Your DVD suggestions... unedited :)

Hey all,

Firstly thanks to everyone who suggested film titles, it's been great fun reading all your suggestions. This is just a general list (literally copy pasted from the various emails I received and unedited) of all your suggestions so far, we have about 50 in total! Buying all of them may exceed the budget we currently have, but I will work on making a fair selection of what to buy initially (i.e. films with repeated requests will have priority etc.) and we can always apply for more money further down the road anyway. Hope to get the initial batch in as soon as possible :)

Hey peeps,

In a joint KCGS/KCSU effort, we are trying to raise money and awareness for Haiti earthquake relief.

When: This Friday, (January 22nd),

8:45pm: Chetwynd Room: KCGS will make a presentation on the situation in Haiti, and what we can do to help. It’ll be a chance to discuss what’s going on as well. (-featuring food and drinks).

10:00pm: Revolutionary Discipline (ex-Ragged Army) with some rockin music!

Greetings from your Ethical (Green & Charities) Officer

Dear Kingspeople,

I'm Andy, your Ethical (Green & Charities) Officer on KCSU. It's my job to spearhead, facillitate and aid campaigns in the college with regards to ethical affairs, fairtrade, the environment and KCSU's charitable fund raising. Lent term is going to be an exciting term on the Ethical and Green front, with the college fairtrade campaign, the ongoing feud with housekeeping concerning recycling and CUSU's Green Week. To get involved, or for more information, don't hesitate to email me on at492

Match Report - Mixed Netball: King's 7 - 9 Girton

Despite the driving rain King's once again made the trek up to Girton (wearing our shiny new skorts) to play our first fixture of the term.

King's played strongly in the first quarter causing Girton to panic slightly, although they regained their composure in the second quarter, putting King's under pressure. The second half of the game was really close with Girton slipping in two goals at the last minute to make the score 9-7 to Girton. King's played excellently and will hopefully go on to do well this season.

CUSU Extraordinary Council Tues Feb 19th

CUSU Extraordinary Council is at King's this Tuesday, look at the External Page for Agenda, and post comments on motions to let us know what you think, and how you want us to vote. There is stuff on course closures, a new autonomous campaign for disabled students, and changing the formation of CUSU's paid officers' roles. Be there, after dinner.

Jailbreak!

Cambridge
Friday 29th Jan 2010 - 09:00 - Saturday 30th Jan 2010 - 21:00

Dear Kingspeople,

Jailbreak begins on 29th January 2010 at 9am. In 36 hours, without paying for transport, we want to get as far away as possible from Cambridge! The aim is to raise as much money as we can for the charities that Cambridge RAG supports.
