Other Societies

Founded to bring like-minded eco-warriors together, we manage and operate the Library of Things, organise sustainability and environmental events within college, and facilitate a positive climate conversation. We hope to be a driving force of radical stewardship in our community.

We are a constituent of CICCU, whose mission statement is to know Jesus and make him known, and we represent CICCU in fostering that atmosphere to know God alongside a welcoming community in King's.

The Knitting Society holds weekly meetings so that students can craft together during term as a break from the stress of Cambridge. This includes any kind of crafting – e.g. knitting/crochet/embroidery/sewing. In addition, we provide the materials for students to learn new crafts from other members of the Society without the financial commitment.

The King's College Darkroom Society provides instruction and the space/ equipment for students to develop film photography, utilising the college's darkroom. It is aimed at students developing their film independently, but there are initial inductions with a professional photographer. The society also oversees all photography-related social events, which are inclusive and welcoming to everyone in the college. These include photography walks, workshops and socials.

Society of Artists of all abilities, where members can join workshops, use the studio space, and enjoy open exhibitions.

We aim to support students across their spiritual, social and academic needs throughout the year. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment for all those coming from an Islamic faith or wanting to learn more about the Islamic faith.

The King's Gambit Chess Club is a relaxed space to meet new people and enjoy a few games of chess in a friendly setting. Our Chess & chill sessions pair players up each week, making it easy to socialise and play with someone new. Whether you're completely new to the game or already know your way around the board, everyone's welcome, with occasional short lessons for anyone keen to learn or improve.

The King's College Healthcare Society is a student-led community uniting the next generation of researchers, innovators, clinicians, and leaders dedicated to transforming the future of healthcare. Through an inspiring programme of fireside chats, workshops, conferences, and school outreach initiatives, the Society fosters interdisciplinary dialogue, connection, and collaboration across medicine, science, engineering, law, policy, and entrepreneurship. By bridging disciplines and perspectives, we empower members to explore diverse career pathways, approach pressing healthcare challenges through multiple lenses, and contribute to solutions that advance innovation, equity, population health, and patient care. Our outreach and mentorship programmes further extend this mission by inspiring young students from local schools to pursue studies and careers in healthcare and STEM. Together, we aim to build a vibrant, inclusive ecosystem of collaboration, purpose, and social impact, driving meaningful change in healthcare and beyond.

BeeSoc is all about beekeeping! We learn all about bees, how to spot bee diseases, to inspect hives, and encourage sustainability. During the summer, we harvest the honey from the hives we've taken care of!

The King's College Allotment Society takes care of the student allotments at King's. Throughout the year we also organise workshops on a wide range of subjects related to gardening. People can apply for their own allotment to grow for vegetables and flowers.

The King's Affair Committee is responsible for the organisation of the May, held yearly at King's College. This organisation includes production, arts, music, food/drink, ticketing/IT, budgeting, ents, sustainability, security and legal. maybe put not open for application rn
